Energy Drink Network Marketing Business

It seems everyone is now coming out with their own energy drinks, stores, nutritional companies, etc.  I even just a moment ago read that the company that makes Red Bull is starting their own network marketing company to sell nutritional products, skin care, etc.

I am sharing this with you because if you have ever spent even one moment of your life in network marketing or direct sales and "got the fever" for it knowing that if some people can be successful at it, then you know that you too have a chance of being successful in network marketing.  Especially if you find the right mentors and upline as well as the right product.  Something people will order over and over again like clockwork.

Maybe you have known people who made anywhere from $5,000 to $30,000 a month or more in network marketing.  I have known my share of those people too over the years.  Matter of fact one of my friends was experiencing that kind of success.  Looking back now I am wondering why they didn't share more info with me about their business.  I wanted to know more, but never got the info I was looking for from them.  What they didn't realize is that I have quite a history in this industry.  Maybe it just wasn't the right timing for me at that time in my life.

It is now 2007 as I write this and I look back on over 20 years on and off in this industry.  You know... that love/hate relationship with network marketing aka mlm as it was formerly referred to back in the 80's when I first "caught the bug" when you are interested and then it doesn't work out, you then hate it till something else comes along that you think might be "it" for you.

See, even back then I knew it was a viable business if you found the right combination.  More than anything at that time in my life (early 20's)  I was very attracted to the lifestyles that could be afforded to you if you earned $10,000 or more a month.  So I have always made it a goal of mine to reach that kind of success or income.

I am not here to tell you I have or have not yet reached it, but what I can share with you is that I am now determined to find success in this industry.  I have had some major shifts in my beliefs and faith in the past 6-7 years which has enabled me to push my belief factors farther than I have ever done so before in my entire life.

In the past month I reached what I believe is the first measure of success in my network marketing career.  I just went out and bought a new car with the income from my network marketing business.  And, no, I didn't walk in and just say finance it all, I put down half in cash and then still making some payments for a short period of time.  I just got my first billing statement and realize I can probably pay it off pretty fast since it really isn't all that much.  The cool part is after I bought it and thought about it for a while, I realized this is actually the most I have ever paid for a car before in my entire life.  So that was a pretty amazing thought too.

I have a lot of goals I am shooting towards and they are written down.  I think the biggest difference in my approach to this business is right from the beginning I made a conscious decision that I want to be a leader and I decided I would do what I needed to do to prepare for that to be an inevitable outcome.

I started building a team right away and now I have teams growing all over the US, Canada and Korea.  There are people in other countries as well, but some of them just haven't been as focused.

One thing that sets a lot of people up for failure in network marketing is that they keep looking for something else other than what they are already working on.  They quickly jump from one program to another without ever really putting in any focus or effort to give it all they have got.

Another thing people don't give as much attention to that they should is that they aren't spending enough energy towards working on their own journey of personal development.

Even though people scoff at the Amway system for all their tools that come from the leadership, I can thank them for getting me in the mindset of seeking personal growth.  It wasn't until I was involved with a business group in Quixtar that I really got into the habit of reading books, listening to tapes and really getting something out of it.  In the short period of time I was under their leadership and mentorship, I found my life was quickly transformed and I started having those "ah ha" moments.  Like the light bulb went on in my head and my whole life was starting to make sense.  If you have experienced this, then you know what I am talking about. 

One book in particular really was the best thing that ever happened to me and that was "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale.  Honestly any one of his books is probably one of the best investments you could ever make in yourself if you grasp the concepts he talks about.  It is all 100% true.

What I would like to do is encourage you to do your research.  If you are considering joining a company I think the first step is to try the products and see how you like them.  See if you get noticeable results you can get excited about.  I feel you need to have a passion for the products, the company and the comp. plan to make it work.  Check out the company and find out how stable you feel they are.  If you can do so, go to their home office in person and learn more about the actual company.  You can't always get all of your facts from the internet if the info is coming from the wrong source.  When you get information about anything, you must always consider the source of the information.  You don't have to know the comp. plan inside and out, many people get to the top of a company's pay plan without understanding it completely.

That is another thing I have learned through all of the training I have done.  You don't have to know everything.  You definitely don't want to spout off a bunch of facts to people thinking that information is going to convince them to buy from you or make them join you in your business.  Too much information just confuses the prospect and then you have given them way too much to think about and that is the response you most likely will get from them.

A few more things to consider as your explore the opportunities of partnering up with a network marketing company is also looking for the right sponsor or upline that is going to be able to give you the kind of support or help you might need as you grow your team.  Tie in with some people who are well connected with a team that knows what they are doing and are readily available to help you.  You might be on conference calls, 3-way calls, or you may even have a local team that has meetings and such, but this is not even a requirement with today's technology and phone systems.

Just remember whatever you do that you need to be consistently bringing new people to learn about your business.  If it is just you and no new person, your team is not growing.  The "magic" of network marketing is truly in the leverage you get when you have more than just your efforts, but also the efforts of others who join your team.  It is like a snowball, it starts out small and grows or multiplies to become something much bigger than that one little handful of snow.
